Today so far as of 9:35 a.m. I have received 177 new
subscribers, which means that since I copied the above
figures 5 minutes ago I've added 5 more new subscribers to
my list.
Those are my exact numbesr since March 18.
Yet, I have not used my affiliate traffic or product
launch traffic to obtain these subscribers.
The question always comes up, are these subscribers good.
Well, if people open your emails, read them, and click to
your blog or web page, this is good traffic.
Yes, these people buy.
Do you want to be able to do this?

I got info on Facebook IFrames and Google Farmer in announcements.
Traffic Dashboard Quickstart call will happen when I can
convince Infusionsoft to let me email again. Apparently some
VERY forgetful people who signed up as my affiliates hit
that nasty little forbidden button and complained and
Infusion temporarily locked down my email.
Nice going guys! Congratulations for about causing me to
have a heart attack. (This only happens if you have a
gazillion affiliates and change email providers so it isn't
something YOU have to be concerned with unless you meet
those 2 criteria.)
Anyway, my apologies on this and I expect to work this
out in the next week.

which means out of over 13 million web sites that Alexa ranks

launch, it's been crazy and I don't have the large staff I

Six: COMMON COURTESY
+++++++++++ Warning -- A brief RANT +++++++++++++++++++++
I know this isn't YOU. Or I pray to God it isn't. Allow
me to vent and say something the apparently DESPERATELY
needs to be said.
Some people on my list regretfully lack common sense,
decency and the ability to act like a human being when there
is a problem.
If you do not treat Lisa and myself with courtesy and respect,
you will suddenly discover you are not able to get my
emails or purchase from us.
If you have a download problem at 10 p.m. on a Friday night
and expect support, you're on drugs or crack and seriously
need to talk to a therapist.
If you ask for a refund on a Saturday and light up our
email with a million complaints on why your refund hasn't
been issued by Monday morning before Lisa even starts work,
you need to take a long hard look at yourself.
You don't need marketing advice. You need basic common
sense, dignity and a psychologist not to mention a life.
I have a memory. I don't allow nasty, ugly, spiteful,
customers to do business with us and you shouldn't either.
Most of the world's largest corporations with billions
of dollars don't provide refunds late on a Friday or
over the weekend. And many don't have support on weekends.
And some CHARGE for support on the most basic of issues.
To expect home based Internet businesses to do what
billion dollar corporations can't is just plain
ridiculous.
I apologize for not providing support on weekends when
you may not be able to download something you bought.
We ARE fixing these problems as soon as Lisa and I
humanly can do it.
Again, I apologize for ranting and I doubt this applies
to YOU personally if you're reading this. If it does,
somehow I screwed up because you should already be off
my list.

Let's break it down.

Step one: Create a fantastic email capture page
that converts at 30% or greater on email traffic or
banner traffic.

Here is one of mine:
Now, on another squeeze, I tested probably 7 designs
by doing a split test using adtrackz Gold. Many ad trackers
allow you to add url's to a split test.
Then you get a url that rotates the pages.
That's all I did. And in the emails that went out for us,
we used that link and it rotated pages.
I had my Filipina do the designs overnight based on some
high opt-in pages I had researched.
I'm ALWAYS saving great designs to my swipe file.
When I buy solo mailings I ask to see squeeze pages and
the response.
I ask other marketers what they're getting.
Make a HABIT of studying email capture or squeeze pages.
They are the front-end of your business and CRITICAL.
I tried a bigk, long red arrow. I tried a headline with
a flashing arrow and no graphic. I tried all the little
tricks.
I'm sure I can still improve. But right now this converts
at 30% or better, depending on the traffic.
YOU can do this. Some high converting pages don't even
have a graphic. They have a headline, a little text, and
an opt-in box you copy and paste from Aweber.
You do NOT need to be a rocket scientist to do this.
Seriously.
If you have Promo Dashboard, there's a whole row or two
on coming up with your freebie and creating your squeeze
page.
What matters MOST is what you offer. One guy I talked to
just quit his job 2 weeks ago and is full time now.
His squeeze page isn't even in a table. The text runs from
one side of the page to the next.
But is'a freebie wordpress plugin everyone wants!
That gets him a 65% success rate.

Two: You need an email subject line that WILL get
opened and read
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
The subject line is critical because it gets your email
opened.
What I personally do is create a new gmail account or
two and just subscribe to everything under the sun.
Then I scan the subject lines and see what grabs MY
interest.
This is what I test. Of course, you change it up.
You don't swipe it verbatim.
One of my subject lines that did well is:
Announcing the Guide to Getting 600 Visitors a Day
on Squidoo.
For example, out of 10,0000 emails sent to a cold
list vlb (row 5 icon 1 Traffic Dash), that got
373 clicks which is a 3.73% ctr rate and not bad
for that kind of list.
That's not the open rate. That's the click rate.
I don't have the open rate data available. But
it must have been pretty decent.
Of course, on a high quality solo mailing or on
your own list or endorsed mailing, you'll do
far better. I get as high as 20% opens on my
list but on FRESH subscribers, I'm getting 8.1% to
10.5%.
The SECRET to high opens is the subject line and
having fresh subscribers.

Three: Write a short email that gets clicks

You don't need a long email.
You want clicks when you do solo mailings.

And that's the longest. Most emails don't have
bullet points.

Four: Track Clicks
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
You gotta track clicks so you know your numbers.
Any click tracker will do but it's better to
have one that tricks clicks and sales.
Hypertracker, 1 Shopping, Automateyourwebsite,
Adtrackz will track clicks and sales.
Budurl, bitley and others track clicks. I don't
think they can track sales.

Five: An Offer That Gets Sales
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
You need an upsell, OTO or offer page that converts
clicks to sales.
After people subscribe to your page, send them to
an offer.
This can be a PLR product, an affiliate product,
a Clickbank product, a video pitch, a sales letter.
But something that has a great chance of snagging a
sale and erasing the cost of the clicks.
A lot of people are using low price points like
10 bucks. Some are doing rebills that bill people
monthly.
There really is NO commonality here for what works.

Six: Emails That Go Out To Subscribers

OK, once peopel are on your list, send out
promotions and content.
Promo Dashboard teaches how to do that.
But really, you need automateyourwebsite.com,
Aweber, Getresponse. Something like that.

Seven: The Magic Elixer -- People To Send
Your Offer To Their Email List or Banners
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
A friend of mine, Robert Puddy, gets 3,000 subscribers a
month using banner ads that are dirt cheap but
actually get him people who buy.
And he has been doing this longer than you've probably
been in the biz.
So you can do it with banners.
You can also do it with my favorite -- solo emails.
In the old days, you did ezine advertising and solo
mailings to ezines.
Today it's more just solo emails to people's lists.
If you got $80 (and probably even less) you can
pay to have people send your email to their list.
But what's very popular is where you swap emails.
I have two or three icons in Traffic Dashboard on
the email drops row specifically on this method.
I have personally used solo emails to get the 2,945
subscribers.
Actually, I have another 500 or 1,000 at Infusion.
So it's more like 4,000 in two weeks.
+++++++++IMPORTANT NOTES ++++++++++
1. I did NOT say you need to have your own product.
You can use a PLR (private label rights) freebie
as your incentive to subscribe to your list. Many
people do this.
2. I did NOT say you have to have your own
affiliate program.
I show you on row 6 how to do that in 60 seconds
if you have a blog but you don't need to.
3. You do NOT have to spend money.
You can start with ad swaps.
4. What if you're starting with no list and
no money?
a. You can build your list by writing articles
and getting subscribers from that.
b. You can buy banner ads that are cheap or
highly targeted. That works.
c. You can make 3 posts a day in 5 forums and
have your squeeze page in your signature line.
This is a great way to start out with no money.
++++++++++++++++ SUMMARY ++++++++++++++++++++
The way I got the subs is I bought a ton of
email driven traffic to my squeeze page.
Anyone can do this if you have even a small
modicum of money or 100-200 people on a list
that you can ad swap.
Literally, you can do ad swaps with 100 people
on your list.
Final Update:
I NOW have 207 subscribers.
So in the time it took me to write this article
which is about an hour, I gained 30 more
subscribers.
Sales will follow if they haven't already.
