[HUMP DAY UPDATE] Twisted Artistry On FB, TradeBit News and How NOT To Do A Webinar

Hey,

Hope you're having a great week so far.

Thanks for taking the time to read the "Hump Day Update!"

Well, I FINALLY got around to putting up a Facebook Page for my
handcrafted jewelry business, yesterday.

There's not much there yet, but I'll be adding to it and keeping
you updated on how things go (i.e. if it helps sell more jewelry).

Click the link below to check it out:

(Feel free to "Like" my page :-) )

Here's something cool that I discovered, if you click on one of the
album images on my wall (or the ones across the top), you'll not
only see the full image but the URLs that I included in the
descriptions below the images are live links to the pages where you
can purchase the actual product in the image.

Now, I've purchased and read or watched a ton of "how to make money
on Facebook" products and don't remember a single one mentioning
this.

TRADEBIT NEWS
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Last week, I mentioned that I sent an email to Ralf asking if
TradeBit took care of sending out tax forms to affiliates like
ClickBank does (i.e., 1099MISC in the US).

And, his answer was "Yes" TradeBit does send out 1099MISC forms and
they do handle all tax issues associated with selling downloads for
the merchant > TradeBit > affiliate connection.

So, if you've been wanting to have an army of affiliates promoting
your products but didn't want the hassle of dealing with the
various tax laws, now you can using TradeBit.

On another note, people always ask me why they aren't making any
money on TradeBit and when I look at what they are trying to sell,
they usually have nothing but resale rights products listed for $0.99.

No matter how many times I say, "Don't do this!" people keep doing
it anyway. It's like they don't believe me or something.

Well, Ralf posted a short success story titled "Inspired By Zombies"
on his blog this week that proves what I've been saying is true.

HOW NOT TO DO A WEBINAR
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

As you may have noticed, I occasionally recommend webinars to you,
sometimes they are recordings and sometimes they're live.

I think webinars are a great way to keep up with what's going on in
the IM world (or any niche for that matter), especially when the
presenter isn't totally focused on selling you something.

Sure, there's usually a pitch for a product at the end, but the
folks who are really good at webinars like Jason Fladlien and Wil
Mattos, Robert Plank and Lance Tamashiro, Dennis Becker and Rachel
Rofe, James J. Jones, or Mike Cowles, to name a few, do a fantastic
job of giving you useful, actionable content before they get to
the pitch.

Now, I don't like to recommend anything to you that I haven't
personally seen or heard myself, but when it comes to webinars,
that isn't always possible because some webinars are a one shot
deal with no recording available (or only people who register for
the webinar get the replay).

And, I don't want you to miss out on the opportunity to have access
to information that will help you in your online business.

So, this past week, I recommended a couple of webinars to you that
I'd never seen before.

The first one was by Mike Cowles and I thought it was really good
even tho' it wasn't exactly what I was expecting based on the
information given on the sign up page, but Mike gave some great
information and demonstrated live how to set up a PLR product for
sale.

Unfortunately, I don't think there's a replay of Mike's webinar. If there
is, I haven't received a link to it.

The second webinar I recommended was held this past Monday and was
supposed to be presented by Jeremy Kelsall, who's work I like, even
tho' some of his methods are a bit edgy.

It was horrible, IMHO, the worst webinar I have ever attended!

But it's not Jeremy's fault...I think Jeremy had a presentation all
prepared but his partner, Don, jumped in after the first slide and
began demonstrating and pitching the product.

No warm up, no coherent explanation of the problem the product
was designed solve, no REAL content.

The product was a WordPress plugin based on an old method of
"gaming" Google, it just used new technology.

The webinar was actually quite chaotic, to tell you the truth, as Don
jumped around between the blog and what the search engines see
versus what a real visitor sees as he demonstrated the plugin.

And, Jeremy kind of disappeared from the webinar.

I really felt sorry for anyone on the webinar who was new to IM or
unfamiliar with the concept that the plugin is based on. I'm sure
they were completely lost.

So, this week I'm 1:1 on webinar recommendations, LOL!

But, I'm not going to stop recommending webinars to you just
because of one dud.

Most of the webinars I've attended and recommended over the past
couple of years have given awesome and useful information.

And, I feel like I owe it to you to offer you the opportunity to
attend the free webinars I hear about so you can decide for
yourself if they are of benefit to your business.
